Glossy Black Cockatoos are deemed "vulnerable" but pairs are regularly seen in the Kerewong State Forest on the Southern Cross Horse Treks horse riding tours. These birds main food source is the seeds / cones of the casuarina or she-oaks, the particular tree shown in the photo.
